2 Apr 2008 - April Fools & a trip to Canada
Well the weather has started to become a bit warmer and so we have had a sunny type of day at school. The loss of my bottle rocket over Rayner St didn't seem to matter too much today as I watched the children in Mrs Ward's class fire virtual ones in the computer suite. My Literacy group today wrote the most fantastic creation stories for me and I was so proud of them as many struggled to even write a sentence in September.
Trips came up a lot today with many talking about going on a Y6 residential in June and some being a bit bit nervous of the rock climbing bit. You aren't made to do it I kept telling people but I guess some children get nervous of outdoor type activities. I helped Mrs Ward to prepare for our trip to the RSPB reserve at Fairburn Ings today and we are going to have great fun looking for creepy crawlies there next week BUT even more exciting than that is the fact we are going to have a video conference (a chat over the computer on a video link) with a scientist in Canada who will show us some of their bugs and talk to us all about it, without even having to catch a flight...
