St.Peter’s Poppy Assembly
St.Peters held an assembly on the 8th of November to think and talk about why we all wear poppies.
We talked and discussed all about it with
Mr. J. Lockwood (R.A.F flyer and president of British legion),
Mr. R. Hedges (United Nations
Mr. P. Waters (guarded the Queen),
Mr. H. Wakefield (Standard Bearer) and Mr. J Lodge (R.A.F. Medical team/Bugler)
They told us that people wear a poppy because there didn’t see any flowers apart from a lonely poppy in the distance below, but one little poppy, witch we now use to represent the soldiers that fought for England and died in the war.
At the end of the assembly Mr. J Lodge played a cornet. He played the song that soldiers are supposed to hear last called The last post.
